If you use BlackBerry 10, make sure Allow Connections is turned on. To check, go to Settings on your smartphone followed by Device Connections. Within this screen make sure Allow Connections is set to On.

Troubleshooting Wi-Fi connectivity

If you encounter trouble connecting BlackBerry Blend to your device over a Wi-Fi connection, make sure your network environment supports IPv6 traffic. For assistance, review the documentation that came with your wireless router or contact your network administrator. I also recommend reviewing the documentation that came with any anti-virus software running on your computer because it might block IPv6 traffic.

For additional Wi-Fi troubleshooting tips, you can reference the Help app if you use a BlackBerry 10 smartphone, or the support content that came with your tablet.

If possible, try using a different USB cable to ensure you are not plugged into a USB Hub or docking station. If you use a laptop, verify your operating system power settings have not disabled your USB ports if you run only on battery power.

Troubleshooting mobile network connectivity

Make sure your device can browse the web successfully while only connected to the mobile network. Also, if you use a BlackBerry 10 smartphone, make sure the BlackBerry logo appears in the upper-right corner where your wireless connection details appear as per the following screenshot. This icon indicates that your device is connected to the BlackBerry Infrastructure.

If you do not see the icon circled above on your device, try registering your BlackBerry 10 smartphone with the wireless network using the following steps:

  1. Swipe down from the top of the screen to pull down the quick-access menu
  2. Tap Settings followed by About
  3. Tap the Category drop-down list
  4. Tap Network from the drop-down list
  5. Tap the three dot icon in the lower-right corner
  6. Tap Register BlackBerry

If you use BlackBerry 10, make sure that Use Mobile Network is turned on. To check, tap Settings on your smartphone followed by Device Connections, and then verify that Use Mobile Network is set to On.

If this setting is already turned on but you cannot connect, set Allow Connections to Off, and then set it back to On. Then attempt to connect to your smartphone or tablet using BlackBerry Blend.
