Step 1: At first, Open the terminal in Applications/Utilities or try to launch the terminal through spotlight.
Step 2: To back up hosts file in the document folder, type the following command.
sudo cp /private/etc/hosts ~/Documents/hosts-backup
Step 3: To open the host file, type the following command in the command prompt.
sudo nano /private/etc/hosts
Step 4: You will be asked to enter the administrator password, so type the password but you cannot see the password in the command prompt.
Step 5: The host file will be loaded, after that use the arrow keys to navigate the bottom of the file to make the notification.
Step 6: After finishing the above step, press CTRL+O with ENTER/RETURN to save the changes to /private/etc/hosts and after that press CTRL+X to exit.
Step 7: Clear the DNS cache and verify the host modification.
